Water, sand, pine trees and clouds. Summer house near Baltic see, in Palanga, Lithuania. Inspired by archipelago of Faroe Islands, which lies between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic, about halfway between Norway and Iceland. Apart from that special attention was given to an island called Koltur, which was a key inspiration for the interior. Thoughts of this beautiful place came from the home land of the client and followed us through all the design process till the end.
Water. Blue accents, including the glass bird sculpture by Tróndur Patursson Faroese painter, sculptor, glass artist and adventurer.
Sand. Sunny and warm texture of ash wood around the interior creates a feeling of walking in the sand dunes, looking for welcoming oasis to rest and to feel the breeze of summer wind.
Pine trees. A small detail in doors and beams creates invisible trunks of pine trees in the interior. Hidden, but very important to the feeling of the place.
Clouds. Filling the space with white surfaces that reflect the light deeper and deeper into interior we wanted to create a sense of white clouds that shade through all the house.
Four elements that are connected in one interior leave a sense of holiday no matter which season and nostalgic memories of the home land in Faroe archipelago.
